COMPOSITION COMPETITION (NEW THIS YEAR!)
The 2021 Suzanne Culley Composition Competition, a high quality music event for participants of many levels, is presented by the Stamford Music & Arts Academy and is supported by the Suzanne Culley charity organization.

Rules and Regulations
All submitted compositions must be:
An original work of solo or chamber music composed after January 1st, 2011.
A complete work – no single movements of multi-movement works will be accepted.
Not exceeding 15 minutes in performance duration
Scored for 1 to 8 players only
Written for the following instruments: violin, viola, cello, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, piano, percussion.
Any combination of the above instruments is acceptable, however only two of the same instrument may be included. Works scored for up to 4 violins, violas, and cellos are acceptable. Works for two or more pianos are not acceptable.
Instrument doublings must adhere to the instrumentation restrictions.
Works may include non-interactive electroacoustic elements (e.g., CD playback, video).
Composer-performers and composer-vocalists are encouraged to apply!
Application materials must be submitted electronically through our submission form; no postal mail submissions will be accepted. Applicants will be required to submit the following through the online submission form below:
A .pdf file of the composition score. Multi-movement pieces should be submitted together as one combined .pdf file. (10MB maximum file size)
A link to an audio or video recording. Recordings must be complete (no excerpts). Both live recordings and MIDI are acceptable. If submitting MIDI please take the time to create an audio file which sounds as realistic as is possible. Multi-movement pieces should be submitted together as one combined submission. Please edit out any tuning/clapping. Please make sure links are view-able without a password.
All steps outlined must be completed and submitted in their entirety by the deadline. No exceptions can be made whatsoever.
Payment will be accepted via PayPal. Application fee is not refundable, please review guidelines carefully.
1st Prize Winner's Composition will be performed in the upcoming 2022 Carnegie Hall Winner Concert!
1st, 2nd, 3rd Prizes and Honorable Mention Diplomas will be awarded to competitors with the highest marks!
